Job Description

Our good client is a multinational company, world wide merchandise sourcing (FMCG) including Household, Apparel, Furniture, and Textile. Currently, they have opening a position for Merchandise Manager specialist in Furniture.

The responsibilties are:

1. Familiar with the market attributes and understand client’s preference.

2. Track on monthly booking & shipment status of the division to justify the head count balancing and to keep business growing.      

3. Source new potential vendors and identify other product opportunities for clients so as to drive more business.

4. Supervise and guide a team of merchandisers to meet client’s needs and expectation.

5. Educate and update vendors on company policies such as social compliance, Country of Origin Conferring and client’s individual requirement so as to ensure legitimate working procedures while satisfying customers needs.

6. Set goals and organize subordinates to accomplish them on time.  

7. Develop subordinates to be at better quality and recognize their ability and strength.

8. Negotiate with vendors on price and delivery issues for the best interest of clients.

9. Assist clients in pursuing claims against vendors.

10.  Identify current problems, foresee pitfalls and advise resolution to subordinates to maintain smooth workflow.

11.  Present problematic issues to client.

12.  Coordinate with internal departments such as Operations, Technical and Quality Assurance to ensure smooth workflow.

13. Coordinate daily operational activities in screening pre-production samples, obtaining price quote and tracking production.

14. Track and review pre-production sample and lab dips to ensure samples match with required specifications and quality standard.

15. Monitor production process properly to meet quantity, quality, order specifications and delivery dates.

16. Accompany clients to visit vendors/ factories in their buying trips.

17. Do research and development for next season’s orders

18. Visiting clients, present and/ or updated new development in market and introduce new vendors

 

The requirements are:

1. 10 years experience in furniture industry.

2. 7 years experience at managerial level.

3. Strong product knowledge in furniture product.

4. Good command in English (speaking and writing)

5. Good communication, leadership, negotiation and problem solving skills;

6. Computer literate (MS Word, Excell, Power point)

7. Additional qualities of interpersonal skills, commitment and result driven is definitely a plus.

8. Willing to travel frequently.
